Get a head start on the holidays with linocut ornaments! In this workshop you will design and carve a linocut block to create a foldable, paper ornament. You will explore mark making and positive and negative space to create an effective design. You will learn the tools, process, materials, and safe practices used in linocut printmaking. We will use color fast, easy-to-clean water soluble inks and apply pressure by hand. You will take home your carved block, printed ornaments, assembly instructions, and the skills to continue creating on your own. Blank ornament templates, printmaking paper, linocut tools, and ink are provided. Students are also welcome to bring their own linocut tools, and smooth cardstock or heavier weight paper to print on.
