This collection of rocking chair prints came about as an extension of a project exploring ancestry through fiber arts. Rocking chairs were invented in America in the late 1700s and remain strong symbols of Americana, often used in folk art. They are associated with both parenting and retirement, newborns and elders, and therefore serve as links in time. These images celebrate folk art craftsmanship and are reminders to slow down and take in each moment.
